This wooden kogo (incense container 香合) is made from Keyaki (欅) also known as Zelkova wood, and features a beautiful grain pattern, accented by spiral engraving. This type of kogo, made from plain or lacquered wood, is used for storing incense chips during the furo (summer and autumn) season.
