This futaoki (lid rest) is shaped for furo use, and is made entirely from Japanese bamboo.

In a tea ceremony, a futaoki is used both as a rest for the bamboo ladle (hishaku) and for lid of the kama (kettle), which is where it gets its name. This futaoki is shaped for use during the Ro season (roughly winter through spring).
